• Light meson decays at BESIII

  The world’s largest sample of J/psi events accumulated at the BESIII detector offers a unique opportunity to investigate eta and eta' physics via two body J/psi radiative or hadronic decays. In recent years the BESIII experiment has made significant progresses in eta/eta' decays. A selection of recent highlights in light meson spectroscopy at BESIII are reviewed in this report, including the observation of eta'->pi+pi-mu+mu-, the study of eta'->pi+pi-e+e-, and search for CP-violation in this decay, search for the rare decays of eta'->4pi0 and eta'->gamma gamma eta, as well as the precision measurement of the branching fraction of eta' decays.

• Annihilating dark matter search with 12 years of Fermi LAT data in nearby galaxy clusters

  Galaxy clusters contain an abundance of dark matter making them attractive laboratories for indirect DM searches. This work details a search for signals of pair annihilation from WIMP dark matter in the GeV gamma ray regime. We perform this search in five low $z$ and high galactic latitude galaxy clusters (Centaurus, Coma, Virgo, Perseus and Fornax); using nearly 12 years of Fermi/LAT data. Through the non-detection of this characteristic signal, we derive constraints on the annihilation cross-section of DM pair annihilation into the $b\overline{b}$, $W^+W^-$ and $\gamma\gamma$ channels. The limits obtained are of a comparable magnitude to those of recently derived from Fermi/LAT observations of dwarf spheroidal galaxies.

• Phenomenological study on correlation between flow harmonics and mean transverse momentum in nuclear collisions

  To assess the properties of the quark-gluon plasma formed in nuclear collisions, the Pearson correlation coefficient between flow harmonics and mean transverse momentum, $\rho\left(v_{n}^{2},\left[p_{\mathrm{T}}\right]\right)$, reflecting the overlapped geometry of colliding atomic nuclei, is measured. $\rho\left(v_{2}^{2},\left[p_{\mathrm{T}}\right]\right)$ was found to be particularly sensitive to the quadrupole deformation of the nuclei. We study the influence of the nuclear quadrupole deformation on $\rho\left(v_{n}^{2},\left[p_{\mathrm{T}}\right]\right)$ in $\rm{Au+Au}$ and $\rm{U+U}$ collisions at RHIC energy using $\rm{AMPT}$ transport model, and show that the $\rho\left(v_{2}^{2},\left[p_{\mathrm{T}}\right]\right)$ is reduced by the prolate deformation $\beta_2$ and turns to change sign in ultra-central collisions (UCC).

• Refined cyclic renormalization group in Russian doll model

  Focusing on Bethe-Ansatz integrable models, robust to both time-reversal symmetry breaking and disorder, we consider the Russian Doll Model (RDM) for finite system sizes and energy levels. Suggested as a time-reversal-symmetry breaking deformation of Richardson's model, the well-known and simplest model of superconductivity, RDM revealed an unusual cyclic renormalization group (RG) over the system size $N$, where the energy levels repeat themselves, shifted by one after a finite period in $\ln N$, supplemented by a hierarchy of superconducting condensates, with the superconducting gaps following the so-called Efimov (exponential) scaling. The equidistant single-particle spectrum of RDM made the above Efimov scaling and cyclic RG to be asymptotically exact in the wideband limit of the diagonal potential. Here, we generalize this observation in various respects. We find that, beyond the wideband limit, when the entire spectrum is considered, the periodicity of the spectrum is not constant, but appears to be energy-dependent. Moreover, we resolve the apparent paradox of shift in the spectrum by a single level after the RG period, despite the disappearance of a finite fraction of energy levels. We also analyze the effects of disorder in the diagonal potential on the above periodicity and show that it survives only for high energies beyond the energy interval of the disorder amplitude. Our analytic analysis is supported with exact diagonalization.

• Logarithmic corrections for jet production at the LHC

  Several important processes and analyses at the LHC are sensitive to higher-order perturbative corrections beyond what can currently be calculated at fixed order. One important class of logarithmic corrections are those which appear when the centre-of-mass energy of a QCD collision is much larger than the transverse momenta of the observed jets. We describe the High Energy Jets (HEJ) framework, which includes the dominant high-energy logarithms to provide all-order predictions for several LHC processes including Higgs, $W$, or $Z$ boson production in association with jets. We will summarise some recent developments, in particular the first matching of HEJ to a NLO calculation.

• How to unfold top decays

  Using unfolded top-quark decay data we can measure the top quark mass, as well as search for unexpected kinematic effects. We present a new generative unfolding method for the two tasks and show how they both benefit from unbinned, high-dimensional unfolding. Unlike weight-based or iterative generative methods we include a targeted unbiasing with respect to the training data. This shows significant advantages over standard, iterative methods, in terms of applicability, flexibility and accuracy.

• Growth of the Wang-Casati-Prosen counter in an integrable billiard

  This work is motivated by an article by Wang, Casati, and Prosen [Phys. Rev. E vol. 89, 042918 (2014)] devoted to a study of ergodicity in two-dimensional irrational right-triangular billiards. Numerical results presented there suggest that these billiards are generally not ergodic. However, they become ergodic when the billiard angle is equal to $\pi/2$ times a Liouvillian irrational, morally a class of irrational numbers which are well approximated by rationals. In particular, Wang et al. study a special integer counter that reflects the irrational contribution to the velocity orientation; they conjecture that this counter is localized in the generic case, but grows in the Liouvillian case. We propose a generalization of the Wang-Casati-Prosen counter: this generalization allows to include rational billiards into consideration. We show that in the case of a $45°\!\!:\!45°\!\!:\!90°$ billiard, the counter grows indefinitely, consistent with the Liouvillian scenario suggested by Wang et al.

• Dark matter or millisecond pulsars? A deep learning-based analysis of the Fermi Galactic Centre Excess

  The $\gamma$-ray Galactic Centre Excess (GCE) remains one of the few observed high-energy signals for which a dark matter (DM) origin is a plausible explanation. We present a deep learning-based analysis of the $\gamma$-ray sky in the Galactic Centre region, carefully accounting for the mathematical degeneracy between faint point-sources (PSs) such as millisecond pulsars (MSPs) and DM-like Poisson emission. Using recent models for the Galactic foregrounds, we find that relatively few bright PSs just below Fermi's detection threshold seem unlikely to explain the GCE, although we continue to find evidence for PSs. Looking ahead, further improvements in the modelling of the $\gamma$-ray sky will be crucial for distinguishing between a DM-like and point-like morphology of the signal.

• Asymptotics of transverse momentum broadening in dense QCD media

  We study the asymptotic behaviour of the transverse momentum broadening distribution of an energetic quark or gluon propagating through dense QCD matter, in the large system size $L$ limit, taking into account radiative corrections in the double logarithmic approximation. Thanks to a connection between the evolution of the jet quenching parameter $\hat{q}$ and the formation of traveling wave fronts in nonlinear physics, we obtain a formula for the $L$ dependence of the characteristic transverse momentum scale $Q_s$ of the distribution valid up to terms of order $1/\ln(L)$. We briefly discuss the physical implications of this formula for jet quenching and small-$x$ phenomenology.
