• Annual modulation of dark matter signals: Experimental results and new ideas

  Direct detection experiments searching for the scattering of dark matter particles off nuclei expect an annual modulation in their event rate. In this presentation, I will review the theoretical predictions and the experimental status of the search for annual modulations, with a focus on ongoing and planned experiments using NaI detectors. In particular, I will discuss the interpretation of the DAMA signal and related model-building efforts.

• The ATLAS Tile Calorimeter performance and its upgrade towards the High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider

  The Tile Calorimeter (TileCal) is a sampling calorimeter that forms the central region of the hadronic calorimeter of the ATLAS experiment. This sub-detector is to undergo its Phase-II upgrade during long-shutdown 3, in the years from 2025 to mid 2027, in preparation for the start of operation of the High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) in 2027. In this proceeding, an overview of the TileCal HL-LHC on-detector electronics upgrade is provided. The detectors Run-II performance in the cases of EM scale calibration, calorimeter response, cell energy distribution and noise as well as a portion of the 2015-2018 Test-beam campaigns results are examined.

• Threshold improved $Z H$ production at the LHC

  We present precise theoretical results for the $ZH$ production cross section and invariant mass distribution at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) taking into account the effects of soft gluons. We improve both quark-initiated and gluon-initiated subprocesses through threshold resummation within the QCD framework and present combined results relevant for $13.6$ TeV LHC.

  Deuteron breakup reactions are basic laboratories for testing nuclear force models. Recent improvements in the data analysis allow for direct identification of neutrons in the BINA detection setup. This opens up the opportunity to study new aspects of few-nucleon system dynamics like charge dependence of nuclear force or Coulomb interaction. In this paper we determine regions along the kinematical curves where differential cross section of deuteron-proton breakup reactions can be measured by the proton-neutron and proton-proton coincidences simultaneously. This is particularly useful for validation of the neutron detection technique.

• Tau data-based evaluations of the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the muon g-2

  We review the $\tau$ data-driven computation of Euclidean windows for the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment ($a_\mu$), which agree with the lattice results, making the difference of the $e^+e^-$ data-driven methods with them more intriguing. This conundrum needs to be solved by next year, when the final FNAL $a_\mu$ measurement will be published, in order to extract firm conclusions on possible new physics effects.

  The Space Star Anomaly in proton-deuteron breakup cross-section occurs at energies of about 10 MeV. Data for higher energies are sparse. Therefore, a systematic scan over star configurations in the range of intermediate energies between 50 and 100 MeV/nucleon is carried out on the basis of data collected with the large acceptance BINA detector. The preliminary cross section results for forward star configurations at 80 MeV/nucleon slightly surpass the theoretical calculations, but the systematic uncertainties are still under study. Also, a new variable describing rotation of star configurations is proposed.

• Measurement of the muon magnetic anomaly to 0.20 ppm by the Muon g-2 experiment at Fermilab

  The Muon $g-2$ experiment at Fermilab aims to measure the muon magnetic moment anomaly, $a_{\mu}=(g-2)/2$, with a final accuracy of 0.14 parts per million (ppm). The experiment’s first result was published in 2021, based on data collected in 2018, and in 2023 a new result was published based on two more years of data taking, 2019 and 2020. The combination of the two results from Fermilab and the previous one from Brookhaven National Laboratory brought the uncertainty on the experimental measurement of $a_{\mu}$ to the unprecedented value of 0.19 ppm. This paper will present details about the improvements of statistical and systematic uncertainties on $a_{\mu}$ since the 2021 result.

• The $\pi^0$ mass and the first experimental verification of Coulomb de-excitation in pionic hydrogen

  The most precise value for the $\pi^0$ mass was obtained from the measurement of the mass difference $m_{\pi^-}-m_{\pi^0} = 4.593\,64(48)$\,MeV/c$^2$ in the charge exchange reaction $\pi^-$p $\rightarrow \pi^0$n at PSI. With the most precise charged pion mass value, $m_{\pi^+} = 139.570\,21(14)$\,MeV/c$^2$ and the validity of the CPT theorem ($m_{\pi^-} = m_{\pi^+}$), a value $m_{\pi^0} = 134.976\,57(50)$\,MeV/c$^2$ is obtained. The measurements also revealed, for the first time, evidence of an unexpectedly large contribution from Coulomb de-excitation states during the pionic atom cascade.

• Josephson current through the SYK model

  We calculate the equilibrium Josephson current through a disordered interacting quantum dot described by a Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev model fully contacted by two BCS superconductors, such that all modes of the dot contribute to the coupling, which encodes hopping and spin-flip processes. We show that, at zero temperature and at the conformal limit, i.e. in the strong interacting limit, the Josephson current is suppressed by $U$, the strength of the interaction, as ln(U)/U and becomes universal, namely it gets independent on the superconducting gap. At finite temperature, instead, it depends on the ratio between the gap and the temperature. A proximity effect exists but the self-energy corrections induced by the coupling with the superconducting leads seem subleading as compared to the interaction self-energy and the tunneling matrix for large number of particles. Finally we compare the results of the original four-fermion model with those obtained considering zero interaction, two-fermions and a generalized $q$-fermion model.

• TAMBO: Searching for tau neutrinos in the Peruvian Andes

  TAMBO is a planned next-generation neutrino observatory sensitive to 1-100 PeV Earth-skimming tau neutrinos. This tau neutrino specificity will provide a high-purity sample of astrophysical neutrinos whose locations on the sky can then be used to improve the sensitivities of all-flavor neutrino observatories. The observatory will be located in a deep canyon and will comprise an array of water-Cherenkov and plastic scintillator air-shower detectors. In this proceeding, I will summarize the current status of the updated TAMBO simulation package, which is currently being used for detector optimization and reconstruction studies.
