• The Higgs mechanism with diagrams: A didactic approach

  We present a paedagogical treatment of the electroweak Higgs mechanism based solely on Feynman diagrams and S-matrix elements, without recourse to (gauge) symmetry arguments. Throughout, the emphasis is on Feynman rules and the Schwinger-Dyson equations; it is pointed out that particular care is needed in the treatment of tadpole diagrams and their symmetry factors.

• Exclusion process subject to conformational size changes

  We introduce a model for stochastic transport on a one-dimensional substrate with particles assuming different conformations during their stepping cycles. These conformations correspond to different footprints on the substrate: in order to advance, particles are subject to successive contraction and expansion steps with different characteristic rates. We thus extend the paradigmatic exclusion process, provide predictions for all regimes of these rates that are in excellent agreement with simulations, and show that the current-density relation may be affected considerably. Symmetries are discussed, and exploited. We discuss our results in the context of molecular motors, confronting a hand-over-hand and an inchworm stepping mechanism, as well as for ribosomes.

• New developments in KKMChh: Quark-level exponentiated radiative corrections and semi-analytical results

  We describe a new semi-analytical program, KKhhFoam, which provides a simplified framework for testing the amplitude-level exponentiation scheme (CEEX) of the full KKMChh program in the semi-soft limit. The structure of the KKhhFoam integrand is also helpful for elucidating the structure of CEEX. We also discuss the representation of ISR in KKMChh and compare the ISR added by KKMChh to the effect of switching to a QED-corrected PDF, at the individual quark level, and suggest a new approach to running KKMChh with QED-corrected PDFs.

• The diagrammatic coaction and cuts of the double box

  The diagrammatic coaction encodes the analytic structure of Feynman integrals by mapping any given Feynman diagram into a tensor product of diagrams defined by contractions and cuts of the original diagram. Feynman integrals evaluate to generalized hypergeometric functions in dimensional regularization. Establishing the coaction on this type of functions has helped formulating and checking the diagrammatic coaction of certain two-loop integrals. In this talk we study its application on the fully massless double box diagram. We make use of differential equation techniques, which, together with the properties of homology and cohomology theory of the resulting hypergeometric functions, allow us to formulate the coaction on a range of cuts of the double box in closed form.

• ALPs and HNLs at LHC and muon colliders: Uncovering new couplings and signals

  Axion-like particles (ALPs) and heavy neutral leptons (HNLs) are two well-motivated classes of particles beyond the Standard Model. It is intriguing to explore the new detection opportunities that may arise if both particle types coexist. Part of the authors already investigated this scenario in a previous publication, within a simplified model containing an ALP and a single HNL, identifying particularly promising processes that could be searched for at the LHC. In this paper, we first consider the same setup with a broader range of both production processes and final states, both at the High-Luminosity LHC and at a future muon collider. Subsequently, we expand it to the more realistic scenario with at least two HNLs, necessary to describe the active neutrino masses. Different phenomenological signals are expected and we examine the complexities that emerge in this setup. This study paves the way for dedicated analysis at (forthcoming) colliders, potentially pinpointing the dynamics of ALPs and HNLs.

• Multiple Andreev reflections in diffusive SINIS and SIFIS junctions

  We study Multiple Andreev Reflections in long diffusive superconductor(S)-normal metal(N)-superconductor junctions with low-transparency interfaces. Assuming strong thermalization in the weak link, we calculate the current-voltage dependence $I(V)$. At intermediate temperatures, $\varepsilon_\mathrm{Th}\ll T\ll\Delta$, the current is dominated by noncoherent multiple Andreev reflections and is obtained analytically. The results are generalized to a ferromagnetic junction. We find that the exchange field produces a non-trivial splitting of the subharmonic gap structure. This effect relies on thermalization and vanishes in SFS junctions with no energy relaxation in the weak link.

• Background field method and generalized field redefinitions in effective field theories

  We study the non-linear background field redefinitions arising at the quantum level in a spontaneously broken effective gauge field theory. The non-linear field redefinitions are crucial for the symmetric (i.e. fulfilling all the relevant functional identities of the theory) renormalization of gauge-invariant operators. In a general $R_\xi$-gauge the classical background-quantum splitting is also non-linearly deformed by radiative corrections. In the Landau gauge these deformations vanish to all orders in the loop expansion.

• Excitations of static isolated fermions in the Higgs phase of gauge Higgs theory

  A spectrum of localized excitations of isolated static fermions has been discovered in several different gauge Higgs theories. In lattice numerical simulations, we show that the charged elementary particles can have the spectrum of excitations in the Higgs phase of SU(3) gauge Higgs theory, q=2 Abelian Higgs theory, Landau-Ginzburg theory, and in chiral U(1) gauge Higgs theory. Possibly these excited states of the isolated fermions can be observed in ARPES studies of conventional superconductors. Also, we consider that similar kinds of excitations could exist in other gauge Higgs theories, such as the electroweak sector of the Standard Model.

• Anomalous criticality coexists with giant cluster in the uniform forest model

  We show by extensive simulations that the whole supercritical phase of the three-dimensional uniform forest model simultaneously exhibits an infinite tree and a rich variety of critical phenomena. Besides typical scalings like algebraically decaying correlation, power-law distribution of cluster sizes, and divergent correlation length, a number of anomalous behaviors emerge. The fractal dimensions for off-giant trees take different values when being measured by linear system size or gyration radius. The giant-tree size displays two-length scaling fluctuations, instead of following the central-limit theorem.
